Who We Are

Penn State Cooperative Extension is the publicly funded, non-formal educational system of Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences. Cooperative Extension links the people of Pennsylvania with the educational and research resources of the College through 67 county and six regional extension offices.

We are committed to Making Life Better™ for the people and communities we serve by delivering educational programs, scientific knowledge, and technical information in these core areas:

  • Agricultural industry competitiveness
  • Natural resources and environmental management
  • Food, nutrition, health, and safety
  • Youth, family, and community development

Our educational efforts are achieved through seminars, workshops, conferences, short courses, computer-assisted learning, learn-at-home programs, publications, and mass media.

The Cooperative Extension-Northeast Region office, housed at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, serves Bradford, Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne, and Wyoming counties.
