West Nile Virus

The Pike West Nile Virus Team submitted over 30 mosquito samples each week to the lab after setting traps in locations throughout the county where people would be spending time in the out of doors.

Educational efforts were also conducted to provide residents with information on personal protection from this virus. This was done through television interviews, newspaper articles and providing information to the many homeowner communities throughout Pike County.
