2000 Annual Report
Pike County

The mission of Penn State Cooperative Extension is to extend nonformal outreach educational opportunities to individuals, families, businesses and communities throughout Pennsylvania. Cooperative Extension education programs enable the Commonwealth to maintain a competitive and environmentally sound food and fiber system and prepare Pennsylvania’s youth, adults and families to enhance the quality of their lives and participate more fully in community decisions.

Through meetings, seminars, publications, newspapers and other media, satellite conferences and the Internet, we deliver the information you need…where you need it.

Cooperative Extension offers programs and resources on agriculture, environmental issues, 4-H and youth, community development, family life, nutrition and health, among many other topics. The backbone of this community-based educational network is people working together. We bring together teams of experts and volunteers to find new ways to help people solve their problems.

In the following pages we have shared with you the work that the Pike County Extension agents, support staff, and our dedicated group of volunteers have worked on together this past year. We are proud of the work that has been accomplished. Take a moment to look and find out what we’re all about and if there is a way we can help you!

Sincerely,

Nancy E. Grotevant
County Extension Director
